What are bed bugs?
Bed bugs are a type of small, flat, parasitic insects that feed solely on the blood of people and animals while they sleep. They are usually between 5 and 7 mm small – or about the size of an apple seed. Like their name suggests, bed bugs usually are found in and around beds. The insect can crawl up to 100 feet per night, but usually stay within 8 feet of where people sleep.
What are the signs of an infestation?
One of the easiest ways to tell if you have a bed bug infestation happening is by its tell-tale signs – bite marks on your face, neck, arms, hands, or any other body parts while sleeping. If this occurs, you should look for signs of an infestation such as bed bugs in the fold of mattresses and sheets, exoskeletons of bugs around the bed and brown colored spots on the mattresses and furniture. If you think you may have an infestation, it is important to contact All-State Pest and Lawn as quickly as possible to arrange a bed bug treatment.
